PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland police have identified the eight officers on the scene of the shooting of a Portland man who remains in critical condition.

The Portland Police Bureau says in a statement that 34-year-old Marcus Lagozzino physically assaulted his parents, who are both in their 60s, then armed himself with a machete and began breaking windows in the Portland home.

Officer Jamin Becker fired a stun gun at Lagozzino, and officers Ralph Elwood and Scott Foster fired beanbag rounds. None had any effect, the police bureau says.

Officer Bradley Clark, a four-year veteran of the police bureau, then fired four rounds from an AR-15 rifle, striking Lagozzino at least three times. Clark has been placed on administrative leave per department policy.

A Multonomah County grand jury will consider the case next week.
