Vancouver firefighters quickly knocked down this afternoon a blaze that snared a living room at a home located a couple blocks south of Southwest Washington Medical Center.
Three teens were home when a fire started inside the house at 8807 S.E. Northgate Ave. The teens fled the home and called 911.
The fire was reported at 1:57 p.m. and an engine reached the scene seven minutes later.
“They were able to get it out really quick,” said Chris Moen, a Vancouver Fire Department spokesman.
Moen said there was damage to the living room and some of its contents. A cost estimate for the damage was not immediately available.
The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
The home is owned by Gerald and Marilyn Jacobsen, according to Clark County property records.
