Icabad Crane wins Big A’s Alex Robb Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Icabad Crane rallied to beat Manteca by a half-length in the $65,000 Alex M. Robb Stakes for New York breds at Aqueduct on Friday.

The early trailer in the six-horse field, Icabad Crane, ridden by Rajiv Maragh, took charge in the deep stretch to secure his fifth win in 22 starts. The 5-year-old gelding, trained by H. Graham Motion, ran 1 1-16 miles in 1:44.48 on a fast track.

The 7-5 favorite, Icabad Crane paid $4.90, $3 and $2.20. Manteca returned $5.20 and $3.50, while Mine Over Matter paid $2.70 to show.
