Paramedics with North Country Emergency Medical Services rushed a burn victim to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland on Wednesday night after a fire broke out at a home in Ariel, near Yale Lake, about 20 miles east of Woodland.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday, members of Cowlitz-Skamania Fire District 7, based in Cougar, were called to the home on Williams Road, along state Highway 503 in Cowlitz County, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Earliest reports said a wall was hot and flames were seen.

About a half-hour later, officials called for an ambulance from North Country EMS, based in Yacolt, to rush to the scene for a burn patient.

More details should emerge later.
