SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A judge has ruled that a Spokane man accused of killing a woman with a crossbow is not mentally competent to be tried.

Spokane County Superior Court Judge Tari Eitzen said Friday that Cole Strandberg has a long history of being severely mentally disturbed.

Standberg was charged with first-degree murder in the Jan. 7, 2008, killing of 22-year-old Jennifer Bergeron. He has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
