SEATTLE (AP) — King County Executive Dow Constantine has ordered an inquest into the shooting death of Maurice Clemmons — the man police say gunned down four Lakewood, Wash., police officers in November.

Clemmons was shot and killed by a Seattle police officer following a two-day statewide manhunt.

In an inquest, fact-finding hearings are conducted before a six-member jury. Inquests are a routine procedure after a person is killed by a law enforcement agent.
