NEW YORK (AP) — The Rev. Al Sharpton’s daughter and ex-wife are going to trial on charges that they resisted arrest during a profanity-laden traffic stop in New York.

A Manhattan judge has ordered a March 23 trial for Dominique Sharpton and her mother, Kathy Jordan. The judge refused to toss out their case on Tuesday.

Their lawyer, Michael Hardy, says no crime was committed.

Prosecutors say Dominique Sharpton told a police officer in October that she cut him off in traffic because she was in a rush to get to a theater.

She is charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Her mother is charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and harassment.
