TUMWATER — The Prairie girls bowling team led from the first game to the last on Friday to capture its first district championship and a spot in the Class 3A-2A state tournament.

The Falcons had four of the top 10 individual scores in the one-day tournament at Tumwater Lanes, led by Tessa Friason’s three-game series of 596 pins.

“We led from wire to wire,” Prairie coach Donn Bash said.

Friason opened with a 235 game to set the tone. Katryn Comeau (559), Cassie Laughlin (536), and Theresa Kelly (533) were also among the top-10 scorers.

Ariel Goldsworth finished with a 486 series.

Prairie also had a seven-game baker game total of 1,046.

Holly Naramore of Columbia River placed second overall, six pins behind Friason and earned a berth to the state tournament.

Official final team scoring was not reported to The Columbian.
