Green Day take rock album Grammy

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Green Day’s “21st Century Breakdown” has won the best rock album Grammy.

The group’s album topped works by U2, AC/DC, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, and the Dave Matthews band.

Beyonce leads Sunday night’s awards program with five trophies including song of the year for her hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).”

The Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” has been named record of the year.
