o Lavender: 11 a.m. July 17. Sarah Bader, of Lavender at Stonegate, will be on hand to discuss this fragrant herb.

o Bonsai Class Follow-Up: 1 p.m. July 17. This class will be a follow-up on the progress attendees have made with their projects and an overall review of the different types of bonsai. Greg Buel, bonsai specialist, will also cover summer care for bonsai.

Earth-Friendly Garden Tour: Self-guided tour highlights 10 Clark County gardens that promote nontoxic gardening and plants that support native wildlife, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 10. Free, but a ticket is required for each attendee. Tickets: Carolyn Gordon, gordonc@wsu.edu or 360-397-6060 ext. 7718.

Open Garden Tour: Mount Pleasant Iris Farm is opening its garden, a national display garden of Japanese irises, including kakitsubata, the water iris of Japan. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 2-4. Free. Washougal Farmers Market: The farmers market will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays from July 3 to Sept. 25 in downtown’s Reflection Plaza. Local musicians will perform in the plaza from noon to 2 p.m., and live demonstrations will take place at 10 a.m. More than 30 booths throughout the season offering handcrafted items, various garden items, fresh fruit and vegetables and more. Admission to the market is free, and free parking will be available on downtown streets and in the Pendleton Woolen Mills lot at 2 Pendleton Way.

Outdoor Quilt Show: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 10 at Northwest Nursery Outlet, 12503 N.E. 72nd Ave., Vancouver. Quilts produced by three local quilting guilds will be on display as well as vendors. 360-859-3264.

Vancouver Chrysanthemum Society: Meets at 2:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month at Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St. New members and visitors welcome. 360-896-7278.
