TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Maple Leafs have added another gritty forward, signing free-agent Colby Armstrong to a $9-million, three-year deal.

Colby spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers. He had 15 goals and 29 points in 79 games last season.

Armstrong is the second forward to be added to the team in as many days.

The Maple Leafs acquired right winger Kris Versteeg from Stanley Cup champion Chicago in a five-player trade Wednesday.
