The Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., will offer a look at a modern pioneer trek at tonight’s “First Thursday” event.

The free 7 p.m. presentation will show the film “In Pursuit of a Dream.”

The hourlong film looks at 24 students who trekked across the country during a summer vacation.

Led by three teachers and dressed in pioneer garb, they loaded their wagons and set off on the way west.

They learned about this nation, and they learned about themselves and how their decisions could have consequences for the group.

Not all of them finished the journey.

The event is part of the regular “First Thursday Museum After Hours” schedule. It offers free admission from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month, February through November.

The museum also has a new exhibit, “Road to Equality: The Struggle for Women’s Rights in the Northwest.”
