ROTTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) — Britain’s Mark Cavendish says he has recovered from a crash that drew the ire of fellow riders and is aiming for the best sprinter’s green jersey in the Tour de France.

Cavendish suddenly changed his line before the finish line of at last month’s Tour of Switzerland, causing a mass pileup of cyclists. He was fined and given a penalty.

The rider for the Columbia-HTC team says he’s in good shape and will try to claim as many stages as possible in the Tour.

Cavendish won six stages in last year’s Tour but narrowly missed the points title, finishing 10 points behind winner Thor Hushovd of Norway.

The Tour de France starts in Rotterdam on Saturday.
