CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Relatives of victims of a 2009 airline crash in upstate New York are coming to West Virginia to show their support for a Federal Aviation Administration funding bill in Congress.

Families of Continental Flight 3407 is pushing for passage of a compromise version of the bill. The U.S. House and Senate have passed separate versions.

The victims group has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday afternoon in Charleston.

Among other things, the Senate version addresses a series of safety concerns raised by the crash of a regional airliner last year near Buffalo that killed 50 people.

West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller is a key sponsor of the bill.
