The Vancouver Police Department issued a warning today to visitors of waterfront parks who find parking spaces filled up: Don’t park illegally.

An uptick in illegal parking has risen this past week with the mercury, particularly around Wintler Park, 6501 S.E. Beach Drive, where there are limited parking spaces, according to a news bulletin. Cars have been parking on sidewalks in neighborhood streets, blocking access roads and planting their cars in clearly marked tow zones, according to the release.

Enforcement could include parking tickets, and some vehicles could be towed.
