KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — A government spokesman in Uganda says an unexploded suicide belt has been found at one of the two blast sites in the country’s capital.
Explosions tore through crowds at two sites late Sunday as crowds watched the World Cup final. The attacks killed at least 74 people.
Ugandan government spokesman Fred Opolot said Tuesday that the suicide belt was found at one of the sites.
Al-Shabab, Somalia’s most dangerous militant group, claimed responsibility for the attacks. The Islamists are calling for Uganda to withdraw their African Union peacekeeping forces from Somalia.
