INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Junior transfer Robert Marve is the No. 1 quarterback for Purdue headed into preseason practice.
Coach Danny Hope announced the move Tuesday. Marve transferred to Purdue from Miami May 2009 and sat out last season while Joey Elliott led the team.
Marve and sophomore Caleb TerBush shared the No. 1 quarterback spot throughout practice this past spring.
At Miami, Marve took over as the starting quarterback in the second game of the 2008 season. He made 11 consecutive starts and helped guide the Hurricanes to five straight wins from Oct. 11 to Nov. 13. He threw for 1,293 yards and nine touchdowns that season.
