SEATAC, Wash. (AP) — About 2,000 gallons of jet fuel leaked from a truck at Sea-Tac Airport.

Spokesman Perry Cooper says the fuel leaked about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday as a tanker truck was loading at a fueling station at the north end of the airport.

Cooper says the fuel went directly into a containment drain that goes to the airport’s wastewater treatment center. The fire department responded but there was no impact on airport operations.

The spill was initially estimated at 300 gallons, but that rose to the 2,000 gallon estimate.

Cooper says the truck, operated by a contractor, has been taken out of service.
