EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A Eugene family that lives in a Winnebago saw their home erupt in flames near the University of Oregon.

Officials say Tuesday’s fire appears to have started in the motor home’ engine compartment. The flames quickly engulfed the stalled vehicle and touched off fireworks inside.

The driver — identified by police as Keenan Graves — was not injured.

The owner of a local restaurant told The Register-Guard that Graves came in to borrow a fire extinguisher, but could not stop the flames.

Red Cross officials arranged temporary housing, food and clothing assistance for the family of three.
