OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The Washington state Board of Pharmacy has decided to draft new rules on how druggists who object to Plan B emergency contraception may refuse to fill subscriptions.
The Olympian reports the rules will allow pharmacies to refuse to dispense drugs if they refer customers to another store that sells them.
As a result of the board’s decision last month, a trial on the issue that was set for July 26 has been postponed indefinitely.
The board will hold public hearings as part of its rule-making process.
