GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Florida State’s Wesley Graham ousted stroke-play medalist John-Tyler Griffin of Georgia Tech in the round of 32 and went on to eliminate Canada’s Garrett Rank on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals in the U.S. Amateur Public Links.

The top four seeds were eliminated across the two rounds.

Graham won the final two holes to pull ahead of Griffin and win 1-up.

Georgia’s Harris English knocked off second-seeded Derek Ernst of UNLV 1-up in the round of 16.

NCAA champion Scott Langley of Illinois was eliminated in 20 holes by Chris Williams, who was the NCAA’s top freshman golfer during the past season for Washington. Williams then toppled fourth-seeded Bhavik Patel out of Fresno State 1-up.
