2 killed in crash near Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE, Wash. (AP) — Two young men were killed and a teenage driver critically injured when his car ran off a highway near Soap Lake and hit a power pole.

The Washington State Patrol says the crash Thursday afternoon killed a 17-year-old passenger from Ephrata and a 22-year-old passenger from Wilson Creek, Travis McAfee.

The 16-year-old driver was airlifted to a Spokane hospital with a head injury.
