SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Red Sox right-hander Clay Buchholz has allowed two runs on four hits in 3 2-3 innings in his first rehab start for the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Buchholz is on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring. He threw 60 pitches against the Syracuse Chiefs in an International League game Friday night. His next start is expected to be with Boston.

Josh Beckett is scheduled to make a rehab start for Pawtucket at Syracuse on Saturday night.

Buchholz, 10-4 with a 2.45 ERA, was chosen for the All-Star game but did not play because of the injury.

He left Friday’s game with a 5-2 lead and a runner on first with two outs. He had two strikeouts, one walk, a balk and a hit batsman.
