PHOENIX (AP) — The New York Mets have activated left-hander Oliver Perez off the 15-day disabled list and sent infielder Justin Turner to Triple-A Buffalo.
Perez has been on the disabled list June 5 with right knee tendinitis.
In the second year of a $36 million, three-year contract, Perez (6.28 ERA) lost his spot in the rotation this season and was banished to a mop-up role in the bullpen. Manager Jerry Manuel has said Perez will return to the bullpen upon his return.
Turner had one hit in eight at-bats since being called up on July 16.
