SEATTLE (AP) — A teacher accused of having sex with a Seattle high school student pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor.

King County prosecutors say Taryn Fairbanks had sex with a 17-year-old Garfield High School student June 23 at his home. She had resigned her position at the school earlier last month.

If convicted the 33-year-old could face six-to-12 months in jail.
