WARM SPRINGS, Ore. (AP) — A man suspected of firing at police during a chase on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation has been hospitalized following a shootout with U.S. Marshals.

Cory Cunningham, a spokesman for the Oregon Fugitive Task Force, says 31-year-old Aldo Antunez opened fire Thursday afternoon after the authorities tried to serve arrest warrants. Members of the task force returned fire, and the wounded man emerged from the house.

No law enforcement officers were injured.

Antunez had been wanted since May 20, when he and Waylon Weaselhead allegedly fired shots while fleeing from Madras and Warm Springs police.

Weaselhead was arrested last month.

Cunningham says Antunez was wanted for attempted murder, and more charges will likely be filed after Thursday’s exchange of gunfire.
