MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — The Washington state Transportation Department says a fire on a Community Transit bus has caused a 12-mile backup on Interstate 5 in Marysville.

The fire Thursday afternoon has blocked two northbound lanes at the Steamboat Slough Bridge. One lane remains open.

KIRO-TV reports that Washington State Patrol Trooper Keith Leary says all passengers got off the bus safely and were being put on another bus. The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
