WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — A woman injured in a 2007 vehicle collision following a high-speed police chase is suing Chelan County and the executor of the man driving the fleeing car.

The Wenatchee World reports that Lora Zamudio filed a lawsuit for damages in Douglas County Superior Court on Thursday alleging that the high-speed pursuit needlessly endangered the public.

Zamudio was in a car with four other people in December 2007 when 20-year-old Joshua B. Dominguez crashed into them after fleeing a roadside sobriety test conducted by a Chelan County sheriff’s deputy.

The sheriff’s office and the State Patrol conducted internal investigations and concluded the deputy had acted correctly in the chase, which reached speeds of up to 100 mph.

Zamudio is asking for medical and lost wages, to be determined at trial.
