YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — The Yakima Sheriff’s office says three fishermen found the decomposing body of a man in the Yakima River during a fishing trip.

The body was found Wednesday in the river near the Sunnyside-Mabton Highway.

Deputies recovered the body soon after and transported to the coroner’s office. The body has not been identified, although preliminary investigation suggest the body is that of a male in his 30s.

The sheriff’s office says the body’s decomposition indicates the body had been in the water for a few days.
