KINGSTON, Wash. (AP) — Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officers have captured two black bear cubs near Kingston and sent them to a wildlife shelter.
Sgt. Ted Jackson says officers believe the cubs’ mother was killed within the past couple of days along State Highway 104. The cubs are believed to be about a month or two old. They were captured Tuesday.
The cubs were taken to a Seattle-area PAWS Wildlife Center, which cares for injured or orphaned animals and prepares them for eventual release back into the wild.
