RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks have signed tight end Anthony McCoy, their sixth-round draft pick, to a multi-year deal.
The team announced the signing on Tuesday, but did not release terms. McCoy is the first of Seattle’s nine draft picks to sign.
McCoy was formerly with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll at Southern California. He tested positive in February for marijuana at the scouting combine and had been considered a likely second- or third-round pick in the draft.
He was academically ineligible for USC’s bowl game last season. That was the last game Carroll coached for the Trojans before taking the Seahawks job.
