ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — Ashland officials are trying to find the person responsible for dumping cream-colored paint into a storm drain.

The paint clouded a swath of Ashland Creek and highlighted the problem of illegal dumping in the city.

City utility worker Dan Gunter says the incident is a reminder that many residents are unaware that the water in the city’s storm drains flows directly to creeks without being treated first.
