RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) — The Richland School District has settled a lawsuit filed by the families of four Richland High School girls basketball players who accused their coach of racial discrimination and retaliation.

The district said Tuesday the allegations made last year were untrue, but it was settling to avoid a trial.

The Tri-City Herald reports the district agreed to revise the hiring process for coaches, but it won’t pay any money to the families who filed the lawsuit in federal court.

The district says its investigation found no evidence that coach Bruce Robertson discriminated against black players.
