EATONVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Pierce County Animal Control officers have removed more than 75 animals from unsafe conditions at an Eatonville property.

For about a year, officers have been monitoring the animals, including miniature horses, large horses, goats, cats, a guinea pig and at least 55 dogs. Thursday morning, they served a search warrant and started removing the animals.

Animal control seized animals at the same property a year ago following complaints by neighbors. No charges were filed, but the animals were not returned.

Pierce County Auditor Julie Anderson says that in unincorporated Pierce County, no residence is allowed to have more than five animals without obtaining a breeding or kennel license. She says the women who lived at the home do not have a license.
