DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Avalanche have signed backup goalie Peter Budaj to a one-year deal.

The Avalanche also announced Thursday that the team agreed to a one-year contract with forward David Koci.

Budaj, 27, didn’t see much time in goal during the 2009-10 season, only occasionally filling in for Craig Anderson, who set franchise records for starts (71) and minutes (4,235).

In 15 appearances, Budaj went 5-5-2 with a 2.64 goals-against average.

He’s spent all five of his NHL seasons with Colorado and has an 86-70-23 mark. Budaj led Colorado in wins with 31 in 2006-07 and 20 in 2008-09.

Koci saw action in a career-high 43 games for Colorado, finishing second on the team in penalty minutes.
