ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts will hold their training camp in Anderson instead of Terre Haute this year.
Team president Bill Polian made the announcement Thursday morning on the Anderson University campus. He says it’s a one-year deal because of uncertainty about the NFL’s labor issues. He says the goal is to eventually have a long-term deal in Anderson.
This year’s camp will run Aug. 1-18.
The Colts held their training camp in Anderson from 1984-1998. The school has added lights and synthetic turf since last hosting the team.
The Colts held training camp in Terre Haute for the past 11 years.
The last year the Colts held camp in Anderson, quarterback Peyton Manning was a rookie. Now, he’s a Super Bowl champion and four-time MVP.
