KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The head of the University of Missouri is giving no assurances that the Tigers intend to remain in the Big 12.

Chancellor Brady Deaton and other Big 12 presidents are meeting this week and a top issue is whether anyone might defect to the Big Ten Conference.

Nebraska and Missouri have both indicated they might be interested if the more lucrative Big Ten decides to expand.

Deaton said Thursday that Missouri remained a proud member of the Big 12, but he added that, “We’re not shutting our ears to anything.”

There has also been speculation that Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas might also leave the Big 12.
