FIFE, Wash. (AP) — A pileup blocked northbound Interstate 5 at Fife from midnight to about 6 a.m. Monday.

KOMO-TV reports traffic backed up for about four miles at one point.

The Washington State Patrol says there were multiple collisions, but the major one was a rear-end crash caused when one car hit another that had stopped on the shoulder.

Both drivers were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.

A semi-truck also was reportedly involved in the pileup.
