COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets are still in the market for a head coach after being turned down by Hamilton Bulldogs coach Guy Boucher (GEE boo-SHAY’).
Boucher, who just completed his first season as a head coach in the pro ranks, was offered the job last week and asked the Blue Jackets if he could think about it over the weekend.
He notified them Monday that he would stay with his American Hockey League team, the top farm club of the Montreal Canadiens.
That leaves three candidates who have interviewed for the job: Blue Jackets interim head coach Claude Noel and two other AHL coaches, Kevin Dineen of Portland and Scott Arniel of Manitoba.
Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson did not immediately return a call seeking coment.
