SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Tuesday is the deadline for state agencies to submit their proposed spending cuts to help erase a projected $577 million budget shortfall.
Gov. Ted Kulongoski set the deadline two weeks ago.
The Statesman Journal newspaper reports that if all the proposals come in by mid-afternoon, Kulongoski will issue a statement and will make the proposals available on the website of the Department of Administrative Services.
Otherwise, the plans will be made public Wednesday.
