RILEY, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a male motorcycle rider was killed Thursday when his bike traveled off the shoulder of U.S. Highway 395 and into a ditch, hitting several boulders.

The man was not identified pending notification of relatives.

The crash took place about four miles south of Riley in Eastern Oregon.

Lt. Gregg Hastings says a preliminary investigation indicates a group of motorcyclists were spread out over a couple of miles as they traveled north on the highway to a rally in Halfway, Ore.
