JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Nelson Mandela’s great granddaughter will be buried in a private ceremony Thursday, a week after she was killed in a car accident on the eve of the World Cup’s opening match.
Zenani Mandela was killed in a car accident last week, two days after her 13th birthday. She was on her way home from a World Cup concert on the eve of the tournament’s opening match.
The funeral service will be open to the public but only family will be allowed to attend a private burial.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation confirmed the funeral details Thursday.
