PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Three men have been arrested after a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigation into an alleged methamphetamine distribution operation in Salem.

Federal prosecutors said Salem and Keizer police, Oregon State Police, the Marion County sheriff’s office and the Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team have been investigating the meth ring since 2008.

The three men arrested were identified as Lazaro Bonilla-Mendez, Jean Carlo Chavarin, and Alejandro Renteria-Santana.

The 33-year-old Bonilla-Mendez and 20-year-old Chavarin were arraigned Thursday in U.S. District Court on a 15-count indictment charging them with a conspiracy to distribute significant quantities of methamphetamine.

The 33-year-old Renteria-Santana is charged in a separate indictment with six counts of distributing methamphetamine.

All three have pleaded not guilty.
