OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Former Dallas Cowboys defensive back Ken Hamlin says he’s reached agreement with the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year contract for the 2010 season.
Cut by the Cowboys in April, Hamlin worked out with the Ravens during the team’s final passing camp last week.
No formal announcement has been made, but Hamlin says he’s “ready to get going” and will do whatever he can to help the team win this season.
Hamlin will provide the Ravens a capable backup to safety Ed Reed, who is recovering from offseason hip surgery and is expected to be sidelined at the beginning of training camp.
Hamlin earned a Pro Bowl berth in 2007 with the Seattle Seahawks. He played the past two seasons with Dallas, although his effectiveness was curtailed last season by a high ankle sprain that forced him to miss four games.
