BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — The Whatcom Humane Society will receive legal custody of nine animals seized from an alleged bestiality farm in Sumas.
The Bellingham Herald reports that Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Ira Uhrig decided the animal shelter should have the custody last Friday. The farm — Exitpoint Stallions Inc. — was fighting in court to retain custody of two stallions and seven male dogs.
In April, federal agents arrested the farm’s owner, Douglas Spink, and a British man, Stephen Clarke. Spink, a convicted cocaine smuggler, remains in federal custody, facing charges he violated his probation for his arrest. Clarke pleaded guilty to animal abuse charges.
The federal government says they seized videos that allegedly show Clarke having sex with dogs.
