EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Meadowlands Racetrack says the two harness racing drivers most seriously injured in a spill last week are progressing in their medical treatment.

Richie Silverman sustained a concussion and fractured both ankles. He was one of six drivers unseated in the accident during last Friday’s second race.

Silverman remained hospitalized Wednesday at Hackensack University Medical Center and is awaiting transfer to a physical rehabilitation facility.

Daniel Dube fractured two vertebrae in his lower back and fractured a bone in his right hand. He’s been discharged from the medical center and will soon begin physical therapy.

Drivers George Brennan, Brian Sears, Eric Goodell and Ron Pierce were less seriously injured. The six horses involved escaped serious injury.
