MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have selected Kansas guard/forward Xavier Henry with the 12th pick in the NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound swingman is known as a scorer who could play a wing position with the Grizzlies.

Henry signed with the University of Memphis out of high school but ended up at Kansas after coach John Calipari left the Tigers for Kentucky.

Memphis came into the draft with the 12th, 25th and 28th picks in the draft. The team has no second round picks.

The young, athletic Grizzlies are trying to build off a season in which they went 40-42 and were in playoff contention before faltering down the stretch.
