INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Pacers have taken Fresno State forward Paul George with the No. 10 pick in the NBA draft.

George averaged 17 points and 7 rebounds per game as a sophomore last year. He was a second-team all-Western Athletic Conference selection.

The Pacers had made it clear they need a point guard, but team president Larry Bird said this week if they couldn’t get one in the draft, they would take the best player available.

Indiana also has two second-round picks, at No. 40 and No. 57.
