MIAMI (AP) — Right-hander Jose Veras was called up by the Florida Marlins on Friday, the latest move by a team still looking for the right mix in the bullpen.
To make room, the Marlins designated left-hander James Houser for assignment.
Veras struggled in his earlier stint with the Marlins this season, giving up at least one run in each of his four relief appearances and leaving with a 15.43 ERA in 4 2-3 innings.
Houser was tagged for three runs in his lone appearance, throwing 1 1-3 innings in Thursday’s 11-5 loss to Baltimore.
