A 30-year-old Ridgefield man was in critical condition Sunday night with injuries suffered in a one-car rollover accident at 5:13 a.m. Sunday.

Andrew Peterson, the driver of a 1997 Honda Passport, was listed in critical condition at Southwest Washington Medical Center. The accident happened in the 15400 block of Northeast 29th Avenue, said Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Shea.

A passenger, Jerry Duede, 35, of Vancouver was treated at Southwest and released Sunday.

Shea said Peterson was trapped in the Honda. He said the vehicle was northbound on Northeast 29th Avenue and had crossed the centerline into the southbound lane.

In a press release, he wrote, “Road marks indicated the driver swerved to the right then back to the left, causing the vehicle to go out of control and roll over one or more times. The Honda came to rest in an upright position on the roadway, not having hit anything else.

“Early indications are that alcohol and speed may be factors in the cause of this collision, Shea wrote.
